Looking for a way to show your community pride as RAGBRAI riders head out of town on July 25th? We’ve got the perfect solution! The RAGBRAI Hospitality committee will be hosting “Party Down with Panera”. It’s an event for kids of all ages.
On Saturday morning July 24th, we’re inviting anyone who wants to come help decorate Floyd Boulevard in Leeds between Grant and Arthur Streets. There will be sidewalk chalk available so folks can write a farewell message to the 10,000 plus bicyclists leaving Sioux City on Floyd Boulevard.
It’ll be a fun family event designed for kids. KG95 along with Kool 99.5 will be doing live broadcasts from the event, and Panera bread will provide their famous bagels to the first 200 participants.
Please come join us on Saturday morning, July 24th from 9 am to 11am on Floyd Boulevard between Grant and Arthur Streets, where the “Party Down with Panera” Celebration will take place. Grant and Arthur Streets are located on the far north side of Floyd Boulevard.

Students in grades k-5 that attend Sioux City Community Schools, Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools and the Siouxland Community Christian School were asked to participate by submitting individual artwork that incorporates Sioux City’s theme—Sioux City: Rock, Ride & Go from the Mighty Mo! One local winner will be submitted into the statewide contest through which an overall winner will receive a grand prize of $350!
The Sioux City RAGBRAI committee announced their art contest winner—Paetin Comes, a 4th grader from Mater Dei Immaculate Conception School. Paetin’s art teacher is Amy Sobaski.
In all, 235 art projects were submitted for committee consideration. “It was difficult to select one overall winner to represent Sioux City in the statewide contest,” said Kristen Walter-Wenell, publicity chairperson for Sioux City’s RAGBRAI committee, adding, “but we felt Paetin beautifully depicted our theme and recognizable Sioux City landmarks.” Sioux City will use the kids’ art projects to decorate the kick-off event on July 24th.
The statewide art contest winner will be announced in June.
